Head of Veterinary Anaesthesia Equine Clinical Science – University of Liverpool
David is a longstanding member of the Horsepower team. Frequently found barefoot, he is a stalwart of the trips and known for his engaging lecture style. He has now change his bike to a Triumph touring bike, and lectures on anaesthesia and analgesia-related topics.

Jenny has been a big part of VwHP with boundless energy, and a wealth of experience in equine first opinion practice. We’re excited to see her back on her bike with us this year!

Dr Caroline Hahn

Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Clinical Neurosciences – The University of Edinburgh
Caroline is a board-certified neurologist with a special interest in equine cases. She has so far biked each and every mile the VwHP time has ridden!

We would not be surprised if Dietrich has a glass of petrol for breakfast each morning. Motorbikes are his usual form of transport as he visits equine yards for acupuncture sessions. His lecture topics cover myofascial pain and acupuncture topics.

Dr Mike Hewetson

Assoc. Prof. in Equine Internal Medicine – RVC LONDON
Mike graduated from Onderstepoort, South Africa in 1999. He spent time in private equine practice in the UK before completing a residency in equine internal medicine at the University of Glasgow. He is a registered RCVS specialist in equine internal medicine and is a diplomate of the European College of equine internal medicine. He has a PhD in equine gastroduodenal permeability studies and has an active research interest in equine gastric ulcer syndrome. He currently works as a clinical educator at the Royal Veterinary College in London, where he an associate professor in equine internal medicine.

Sanne graduated in 2009 from Utrecht University in the Netherlands and after an internship at an equine hospital in the Netherlands moved to the UK to embark on an Equine Medicine residency at the University of Bristol. Enjoying the English countryside and windy beaches, she decided not to go back to the Netherlands. Since completion of this residency she has been combining first opinion work at two practices in the Southwest of England with work as technical adviser for a small pharmaceutical company. She is now fulltime back in equine first opinion practice in Devon.
